The Inspirations We Find

Ever find yourself staring at a blank page?

Wondering where your thoughts end and the words should begin

We've all done it,

perhaps more than we'd like to admit

We think that the art that once flowed so freely

now sits stagnant, trapped in the confines of our own minds

Our hands still, quills dry up and the paper shrivels

So, as one does, we look for inspiration in the world around us,

and we often find it in the most unlikeliest of places.

On a walk around the lake, spotting the swans glide elegantly on the water,

crafts itself into a poem about dancing under the stars.

The way a friend enjoys the joke you hesitantly make,

paves the path for a tribute to laughs and happiness.

Smiles, from strangers in a crowded room

lifts the spirits lifting the pen.

The greatest inspiration however

is to see a reflection of your own passion in others.

To know that they are carrying the same fire inside

ensures that there will always be a bright side

Dedicated to all of the amazing people who inspire me everyday!
